Some= times a fund source has only enough money to pay a certain amount during a = particular month or quarter.  You can use the following formula for th= ese situations.

1.  &n= bsp;         Determine the total su= m of monthly GSR salary and GSR assessment

2.  &n= bsp;         Divide the fund source= A amount by #1 answer

3.  &n= bsp;         Multiply #2 answer x %= employed =3D % to employ on fund source A

Example:          &= nbsp;        Fund source A can only pay \$500.00.

&n= bsp;                    S= tudent is paid 48% at \$2795/mo; Remission =3D \$840

&n= bsp;                    a= .  \$1341.60 + \$840 =3D \$2181.60

&n= bsp;                    b= .  \$500 divided by \$2181.60 =3D 22.9189

&n= bsp;                    c= .  22.9189 x 48% =3D 11.00%

Answer:     &= nbsp;         Fund source A =3D 11%= (\$307.45 salary + \$192.50 remission =3D Total \$499.95)

&n= bsp;               Fund source B =3D 37%=

GSR Partial Mont= h Payment Formula
=20
=20

You can use the following Partial Month Factor Chart to calculate how mu= ch a GSR will be paid when employed for only part of a month.

To determine the number of days in a month, count all Mondays =E2=80=93 = Fridays; including holidays.

For all calculations; figure to 6 decimals and round to 4 decimals.

The payroll formula is:

1.  (Partial Month Factor) x (Pe= rcent Time Employed) =3D Y

1.    = (Y) x (Monthly Pay rate) =3D Amount paid

Example:

Student worked 7 days out of 22 day month; 4= 9.31% at \$2966/month

1. (.3182) x (.4931) =3D .1569

2. (.1569) x (\$2966) =3D \$465.37

Prorated Monthly= Assessment
=20
=20

The GSRTF monthly assessment is prorated when a GSR's total pay for a mo= nth is less than 25% time.

(a)  &= nbsp;       Amount paid during a month=      =3D    % of total month worked

=             &nb= sp;           100% Monthly Rat= e

=     (b)         = ; (% of total month worked) x 4 x (GSRTF Mo. Assessment)    =3D&n= bsp;   Prorated Mo. Assessment

Another way to calculate this is as follows:

=     (a)         = ; (Partial Month Factor) x (% Employed)    =3D    % of = total month worked

=     (b)         = ; (% of total mo. worked) x 4 x (GSRTF Monthly Assessment)    =3D=     Prorated Monthly Assessment

Split-Funded GSR= TF
=20
=20

The GSRTF monthly assessment is prorated when an eligible GSR is paid fr= om more than one fund source during the same month.  If the GSR is spl= it funded, the system will calculate the monthly assessment for each fund s= ource as follows:

1.            =             &nb= sp;   100%         &= nbsp;            = ;  =3D   Factor (to 4 decimal places)

&n= bsp;                   Total %= Worked

2.            Fac= tor x (% worked on one fund source) x (GSRTF Mo. Assessment) =3D Split fund= ed Mo. Assessment
